OXYTETBACYCUNE HYDROCHLORIDE INJECTION 10%

COMPOSITION:

Each ml contains:

Oxytetracycline (as oxytetracycline hydrochloride)…………………… 100      mg

Excipients ad………………………………………………………………………… 1       ml

INDICATIONS:

For the treatment of diseases caused by or associated with organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline in cattle, sheep, horses and pigs.

ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:

Cattle, sheep, pigs, horses: Intramuscular or intravenous use.

Cattle: 1.5-4.0 mg/kg bodyweight daily for 3 to 5 days.

Sheep and Pigs: 2.0-9.0 mg/kg bodyweight daily for 3 to 5 days.

Horse: 5.0 mg/kg bodyweight daily for 3 to 5 days.

Maximum dose volume for cattle should not exceed 20 ml per site.

Maximum dose volume for sheep and pigs should not exceed 10 ml per site.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:

Do not use in animals suffering from renal or hepatic damage.

Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to oxytetracydine or any of the excipients.

SIDE EFFECTS:

General toxidty is low although collapse has been reported with tetracydines in weak or debilitated animals.

Other adverse reactions to oxytetracydine that have been observed indude gastrointestinal disorders and, less frequently, allergic and photosensitivity reactions.

Tooth discolouration can occur if oxytetracydine is administered to young animals.

Cattle:

Meat & Offal: 16 days.

Milk: 84 hours.

Sheep:

Meat&Offal: 14 days.

Milk: 144 hours.

Pigs:

Meat & Offal: 11 days.
